Vice President, Origination

Thorofare Capital, an emerging fund manager and dynamic real estate finance organization, is seeking to hire skilled professionals to expand and better serve its growing list of borrower clients, financial intermediaries, and investors. The candidates for the position of Vice President, Origination shall be primarily responsible for transaction identification, analysis, and origination for Thorofare Asset Based Lending Fund IV, L.P., a $300 million discretionary debt fund which invests in $3 million to $35 million senior secured first lien mortgage loans and note secured by high quality commercial real estate nationwide.

Thorofare Capital is a direct, portfolio lender that controls sourcing, underwriting and funding, and servicing all debt investments in-house. Candidate will have the opportunity to learn and grow his/her skill set within a multi-functional, fully integrated private investment bank that is a friendly, non-bureaucratic atmosphere. Since 2011, Thorofare has invested more than $1 billion throughout 150 transactions in 28 states across four debt funds and separate accounts.

Thorofare Capital is among the most active bridge lenders in the middle market covering essentially all commercial real estate property types on a genuine national basis. Thorofare launched Thorofare Asset Based Lending Fund IV, LP in October 2015 with plans to identify, structure, and close in excess of $300 million of bridge loans, note financings, DPO’s, and opportunistic short-term financing transactions throughout 2016.


  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in commercial mortgage underwriting, originations, and real estate investments.
  • Undergraduate College degree with a preference for a focus in finance and/or business. Ability to craft detailed financing credit memorandums for internal presentation to Investment Committee.
  • Experience in identifying, analyzing, and underwriting sales comparisons, rent comparisons, financial forecasts, and market trends for due diligence on financing transactions.
  • Established network of developer sponsors, mortgage bankers, and potential borrowers is preferred, yet not a mandatory requirement.
